Required Qualifications and Skills

- Must be 18 years of age, have a valid driver’s license, and have reliable transportation.
- Experience as an automotive technician.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and mechanical ability.
- Possess and maintain a complete set of automotive hand tools.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Working knowledge of preventative maintenance, care, and operation of automobiles and light-duty trucks.
- Working knowledge of the techniques and procedures to diagnose mechanical/operating problems.
- Working knowledge of safe working practices.
- Operate computerized diagnostic equipment.
- Safely lift objects weighing 50 pounds.
- Work cooperatively with others and provide positive customer service.
- Learn to input, assess, and analyze data using a computer and adapt to technical changes.
Typical Tasks
Common assignments include: 1) conducting drivability tests to diagnose defects in passenger vehicles, light trucks, vans, etc.; 2) diagnose and determine the appropriate repair for fuel injection systems, computerized feedback emission control systems, heating, air conditioning, brake, steering and suspension systems; 3) advise and consult with service writer staff; 4) maintains records of work performed and materials used; 5) perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $25.00 - $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
